I am looking for the manual for a Redco Digiscan Ufo (not the one that is easy to find, the other one.)

I have had this old Digiscan Ufo laying around for about a year and a am ready to install in my restored 138xlr, but the manual I can find is for an earlier model. My Digiscan has only 2 movable blocks and 9 switches not like the 13 movable blocks pictured in the manual I have been able to find.

Here Is a copy of the one I can find

I believe I have the same unit as you do. I was unable to locate the correct manual either. Someone has it out there, hopefully they see this.

Try Installation #5, Code 1, and Alignment #4. My UFO Elite is the same as the DS-400. A little bit different than yours but I bet your 2 blocks are the same as J1 & J2 in the DS-400.

I have this same version, can't find any info on it. Did you ever have any luck finding paperwork? Also mine will only scan up from initial startup, when I get up to 29mhz it stops then it will scan down. Step switch does the same thing (only works one way) I think it has problems and without docs it is just a doorstop. Any help would be appreciated.

Umm, yeah. Part numbers scraped off chips, no diagram ever published. Reverse-engineering it might take a handful of separate units built with different production changes. Seems they were a bit sloppy about which chips had readable markings and which ones didn't. Just need to document where every foil trace connects one thing to another.

Not volunteering.

This is why I ditched all of our "save for parts" specimens. Just not gonna.

Thanks for your reply Nomad, I think I will just keep her for parts.... LEDs etc. If I happen to find any info down the road I will pass along on this site. Good people here. Cheers
