That is more of a signal it needs service than a simple calibration.

I had one too, mine "wanted to eat batteries" thought I could send it in, until, I received a call about "Estimates" and so I asked what was wrong. Owned just over a year and not under warranty - wow - A small memory-keep feature on--the-board of the meter is bad - part of it's power off if idle too long (memory keep).

I either paid the cost of about $88 dollars or $35 to ship it back - I said keep it - I won't buy another until you forgive everyone elses debt to you thru a full page ad in Popular Electronics and hung up - I just went and stayed with R/S until they went under and then onto Harbor Freight - talk about swallowed pride...
