Inside a messenger 2KW (2) drving 16 pills

Heres pics of inside a ultra rare messenger 2KW. All this amp needs is a radio to drive it. It has an internal driver (2) 2879's driving (16) 2879's. Check out the filtering. Any one have the info on who built this amp? Where can I get Schmatics? White papers? Operating manual? Enjoy the pics! Clickie

its a home built job just 2-8pill amps stuck together
like folks combining 2 sweetsixteens and calling it a 16pill
all a sweet 16 is 4 texas star 350s combined
but it looks good

How do you know? Did you build it or know who did?

back in the late 80's i ran a 21 transistor messenger. the original owner bought it from h&y & found he couldn't power it properly. i got it & initiated my 'mulitple alternator by trial & error' schooling. with the voltage regulator 'upped' a couple volts, it showed 3500 watts. it really didn't look anything like those pics, and i too modified the power leads & a few other things. it too required just a 4 watts for full output. back then i didn't care about IMD.....maybe today either.

555's right. Looks like someone just took two 8-pill's and wired them together to get a 16-pill...

Nothing wrong with that, but I don't see so much as one single fan on that thing! I would be willing to bet that box could also be used as a cook stove after about 5 minutes of air time!

seen it done plenty of times and what one looks like
also seen the tnt 12packs combined
and also the sweet 16 amps combined

sorry not to include the pic of the fan. The fan is mounted in a metal "box" that bolts on to one end of the amplifier. Ill look for a pic and post......

Figured there had to be one somewhere! I know that the TS 8-pills don't come with fans, but they have a fan-kit for them.

I guess that square looking wiring harness thingy is for the fan connection right? Someone spent some time on that box...

The square connector is a plug to connect the remote to. (theres two connectors on the box. One for the fan, one for the remote). The amp has four power levels via remote. Kinda like the messenger M4V remote. Ill try and find a pic....

About 1 grand. BUT, it works like a champ, is VERY rare and has super clean output (Class AB1)

how many times are we going to hear people say that,... super clean cause its AB1... everyone does understand that just cause its has some sort of forward bias doesnt make it CLEAN automatically right?

OMG you mean if I put a hacked up radio in front of it, it will still sound like ass and splatter everywhere....say it aint so!@
