Today at Hamvention 2023, Kenwood announced and is showing the new TH-D75A 2m/220/440 handheld radio.

Features are largely the same as the TH-D74, but the new radio adds built-in Digipeater capability for APRS, as well as a USB-C for data transfer and charging. Details are just emerging; price and release date are unknown at this point.

Based on the success of the TH-D74, they will easily sell tons of them at whatever price point they want. There is no other HT that has that rich of a feature set. I just hope the internal HF antenna for AM broadcast works better on the new model.

I don’t believe that Kenwood will be in the Amateur Radio business for much longer.I have a neighbor that has a TS-990 that is currently in NY for repairs and they have had it for over a month and he has not heard from them.He has had terrible service on the radio and it’s far from cheap.I’ll stick with my ID-51a Plus 2 since I know what I have and it’s dependable as is ICOM service.Kenwood Rarely makes an appearance at any Hamfest until they have something New and they disappear again.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
