Admiral , First Welcome to the forum . Mic's sound different on different radios , I'm sure someone on here has the mic for that radio figured out . But also You Get what you Pay For . Barjan ? I'm not real sure on that but $12 ? Hmmmm . jmo 73 & God Bless , Leo

I use the sra 198 mic on my uniden 980 and I get great remarks on the sound. I would steer clear of barjan.

Yes it does. I think it was Barjan that called the other day offering to "secure" my computer for a fee. Mics might be a part-time gig.

That's it Leo! Friend fell for that. "Barjan" locked Tim's computer then wanted $300 on-line payment to unlock it. Tim didn't pay it. Had it unlocked locally.

While on my way to Florida, I bought a Bajan mic at a truck stop once, but I only used the cord and connector on a good mic that needed it at that time. Most cheap dynamic mics are garbage, but I still like to save the shells for a possible condenser element conversion later.

So the astatic noise canceling is the best on the 980 I just wanna be heard talked to 370 Canada 5 by 9 whatever that means said needed more audio blowed my mind never talked that far ever with plain radio straight outta box to my truck also opened mic and took the white sticker off that plastic piece in there saw it on a thread here somewhere
