The operator is responsible for transmitting in or out of band....don`t blame it on the radio.
Have to say that's what I like about the 257, no BS, no echo none of that garbage, just a great recieving and transmitting radio to enjoy the hobby with
I had a 257 on 10 meters for quite a while. I told everyone it was a HTX10. the only thing I did not like about it was it tuned 10 kc's at atime. the HTX10 would tune 1 kc steps from 28.00- 29.700, much better.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
