Anyone know of a good replacement mic for the above mentioned radio? I know the stock is 6 pin but I never use the channel buttons on the mic either. Are there adapters to go from 4 pin to a 6 pin?
Well the reports from those that hear me is that it sounds slightly muffled. And a upgraded mic can never hurt. What don’t you like about it? Yup..they do sell an adapter for it.

Where on the case did you drill your hole or holes?I drilled a hole in mine and it made a big difference. I've tried lots of different microphones on it, the stock microphone is still the best.
I really don't know what it is set at. Hell it could be on the low side and that's why I'm not sounding the best. For me the modded Cobra M75 works a little better but both are close. I find turning down the mic gain 1-2 clicks makes a ton of diffence in audio quality.
The element in the big housing might benefit from using some cotton to pack around it.Ok so I just got out of the truck, I figured out how to drop the Mic gain, down to 7 from the factory set 10. Also I moved the pickup from the little holder and moved it into the large opening that already had holes in it. Now I just need to get someone to answer me. I'll post up once a get a reply from someone and get the report from them.
I have one of those, it is a great mic. Clean, clear sound. Bought it from Scott's radio.ich think this is the best mic for President CB-Radios.
