North coast of the USA.... Da UP!
Hoping that someone here would have some history or info about the Muller or Müller modifications done in the late 1980s? The mod basically added a tunable VFO to most any AM / SSB radio and a digital readout to 10 Hz? I think this was out of Germany, maybe.

Google N3ZI that site has many different types of kits and digital vfo that can be used on rigs.

I have used the freq counter kits on some of my old boat anchors, they work well.

There is a tech in Sydney ("STN") that adds vfo's to most ssb radios. We had one done in 2012, a 23 channel bengal ssb base rig, with the vfo it covered 25 to 29 megs continuous in 1k, 5k, 10k, or 100k steps. Sounds great on air and we use it for the 26.7 crowd, normal cb channels, and 10 meter phone.

PS: The video won't play directly from this site if you are not in Oz, just click the "watch on youtube" link that appears when you try to play it, it will then play ok from anywhere in a new window.

Video of the modded rig here.

Really cool modification. I wonder why we haven't seen it here in the States? Nothing like that since the Digi-Scan, best as I can tell. Any links to how to get one?

I wasn't going to say the name in public, but that's the one. For the last few months shes been giving some dude step by step instructions on how to do something like that to a president madison, but with everything inside the radio instead of in a box on top like mine. Way beyond my level of understanding though!

2RT307, if you are on cbtrick's you could pm her there on that site.

Loz!
