Just bought a Kenwood 940sat on ebay, but it has no mic. All I have is an xtreme 2018 with an icon adapter. I'm pretty sure I come and Kenwood are different. Looking for a cheap mic to get on the air. Any ideas?
Never used but have heard a few and they sound decent, keep in mind this is for a Kenwood HF rig that does not not need to be driven like a CB. Seriously what do you have to lose(well $18 I guess).Personal experience?
Also, do you know what diode I need to clip to make this old junky Kenwood loud?
No need to clip diodes, just use a D-104 mic and volt it up with two 9V batteries and turn it up to 11!I guessing I should have knowno you wouldn't recommend it at random. I will give her a try, thanks. Also, do you know what diode I need to clip to make this old junky Kenwood loud?

Egad BAD Ground special edition..yuck!Nooooooooo!! put an MC 60A on it.
Based off the s/n, I believe it is an earlier model that will slam the meter. We will have to see what arrives.Nooooooooo!! put an MC 60A on it.
Question:when you turn it off, does the meter "slam" to the right and then slowly return to the left?
