I have a few of these, and the older generations of them as well. They are amazing fun, DX can be had with a whip antenna, however the SSB performance is very average (especially on the "newer" generation radios). They are all dated and compromised designs.

We really need a "new school" AM/FM/SSB handheld rig.... It's #1 on my wish list
