Nice ! Looks like it comes stock with CTCSS as well, rather than it being an add-on like the original 6666. More functions are available on the front panel too, instead of deep in the menus.
Any idea what the mic button just to the right of squelch is for ?
I wonder if they have fixed the somewhat harsh receive audio of the first version ?

It needs to come on, many of us are waiting! Looks like it'll be a q5n2 in the body of a quad 6 which is great. The only gripe I've had with the q6 is the encoder so hopefully they're using one that's a little more durable.

The Q6 encoder needs to be upgraded. My Q5N2 encoder skips channels as well (though not as much as the Q6's). Would also be great if they could improve the receive audio on sideband. And please please please can they add a 5 KHz step like the Q5N2 has ???? Such a royal pain getting to the 'zeros' on the original 6666........
If they do all that I will buy another one in a heartbeat !

This is interesting. I have a predator short whip antenna that tunes awesome on 15 with a 65" whip instead of the factory one. Wonder what it would take to get my 8 pill 10 meter amp on 15 meters and if it would be clean .
