New Cobra 19 mini (anytone)

" With its LCD display, full-range microphone for optimized audio, external speaker compatibilities, and access to over 40 CB radio channels, the 19 MINI is truly a ‘no cell service, no problem’ communication option. Cobra’s smallest CB radio also enables multiple mounting options for different vehicles."

Are there some I don't know about on a straight AM rig?

Don't worry, Realistic, Uniden and Cobra have all done this before!

Used RJ-11 "phone" jack and plugs (Read AT&T) on some models - back in the 80's. It's before some members were ever born so people like Lily are not involved per-se but if you ask nicely, she'll give you a Lollypop

If I ever get one on the cheap (<$20), a 4 pin mic conversion will probably be the first thing done. Besides being compact, I believe there’s one welcomed improvement nowadays, NO SONY BOND to clean up. How’s the squelch response? That’s a question I’ll never know until I have one in front of me. I have a number of 80’s compact models with excellent squelch action. I hope this new one follows suit.

Note to corporate advertisers: “Full featured” means among other things, all legal modes included. One minute “open box” tease reviews only attract the uninformed. Most CB buyers are more interested in the details than you think. At least let prospective buyers read the manual.
