The "High Illumination Flashlight" is what sold me!

In addition, my domicile has "Instant On Lighting"

In all seriousness, for no more than one pays for these ChinaTron radios, they fit the bill for "if it doesn't work, toss it!"

You're not sure what it's for? (Not sure if you're serious, but...) I'm afraid you'll have to just about give it away, since there'll be no warranty, and they're just $25 new on Amazon.

Speaking of which, you could contact a local amateur radio club and donate it to them for emergency use, or some clubs will help support kids who want to get into the hobby by gifting used equipment.

I bought one off Ebay and charged it up and put it in my Search pack. I am on our county Search&Rescue. I took a crew out on a search for a missing hunter. Our Sheriff radios didn't have the freq. that I needed to communicate with the search base on the county were were providing mutual aid to. I pulled out my Baofeng and the guy in the coms shed said he could program it with the two freq. they were using which kept me in the loop. The radio worked great. I think it cost me $54.00. It was well worth it for that search. I noticed several agencies using these radio's. I bought it after my instructor for my Tech License class said they won't be sold too long as the FCC is going to band them. They are an un-locked radio. I must say for the price they can't be beat. As long as you keep it charged it should be ready to use in your time of need. What I do see is people using them without the proper license. I never really thought about it much ( transmitting without a license) but after doing all the hours of study for my Ham license it bothers me. I like good equipment and thought the Baofeng was a joke until I needed it to communicate on the search. It sold me. So to all the folks out there that buy these radio's or any Ham radio to use for personal communications, you need to jump thru the proper hoops and get your license. Save yourself money and heartache, if you want to talk on the Big radio get your license. If you look at the info on this site you will see that the FCC locates people transmitting without a license and fines them. The HAM radio is not a joke, it is a tool to save people and their property that result from disasters of all types. It is a enjoyable hobby also. There were HAMs in our family thru the years and I am one of them. I hope to pass the hobby onto my grandchildren someday. I do not transmit without a license. I waited until I got my license.

If it is a UV82 it is a pretty good HT.I have one with 2 meters & 220 mhz & I use it all of the time.I like it much better than the UV5R's that I also own.The UV82 has served me well & the one I have with 220 mhz cost me $50 two years ago at Orlando Hamcation.
