NEW MEXICO
Just came across this that Icom has a new version of the IC-7300 and it's called the IC-7300 MK2. Here is a brochure to give the details.

If Icom improved the RX filtering it should be quite a rig. The seperate RX antenna port is nice also. Reckon the $$???

Icom just gets better and better. I really love the HDMI port for an external display.
Looks like I'll have to start campaigning for a Christmas present (depending on the cost, of course).

Old chestnut.
0,7A on RX is still a lot...
LAN +
CW: Icom finally learned how to do it. Will they update older rigs?
RX ant: nice
No IQ, no APF, probably still ALC issues.
If ext display: should be touchscreen.
Price: 2k Euro in EU at least.

I just saw the video and was coming here to post about it but I see the cat is already out of the bag.

Pretty enticing rig!

Maybe the price of the current version will go down before this one hits stores in December.

I "get" wanting to add an external, larger monitor, but if it just mirrors the built in one, it's not of much use to me. As Mudfoot mentioned, touch screen capability would be awesome. I run my old FTdx-3000 with RX out to an RSP-1 receiver and use it as a panadapter. With Omni-Rig and CAT control, I can point and click my mouse on a signal on the waterfall, and it takes my rig to that frequency instantly. It makes navigating the bands and making QSO's much easier.

Icom hit it out of the park with the original 7300... I've had so many QSO's with guys that run them combined with a hex beam that I think HRO must have run a combo sale on them at one time. :ROFLMAO: Hopefully this new version will be a hit as well.

Crazy how many are on the air. Only made sense to improve upon it. I haven't owned on yet. This latest iteration might tempt me. I'm currently running 897's in the shack and mobile.

Those 897's are in demand, especially with POTA and bug out folks. If you decide to sell, I bet they get snatched up pretty quick.

My bad....

I meant to say I have two FT-891's. I do want an 857 to run with my ATAS. So far, they are hard to find and expensive. Had 897 on the brain.
