Actually no - it was not a typo.
When you have a Technician license - then all general class bands are off limits until you successfully pass your examination and get your certificate of successful completion.
Once you have your general class license, the only time you need to use temporary AE is when you are operating on the Amateur Extra Class portions of the bands.
As long as you stay within the General Class portions of the bands - you can use your regular old call sign and not have to worry about using any type of suffix after your call sign - because you are still within your license privledges.
Can you understand now why I posted it that way.

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
