with coax removed and without regard to any other appliances, would killing the breaker to the radio room prevent damage to everything on the bench?
Yup. I know. Links should be a darker blue to indicate a link.... but hard to know to click on it.
Good to hear of a success story. The key here is fuse blew along with MOV, although the MOV was suppose to short. Most likely a metal case for the battery charger to contain any fire. Recommendation for 2025, get a TMOV (with built in fuse) and install in a metal enclosure.... MOV split in half and a blown fuse.
Yup. No power, no coax, almost as good as boxing up the radio.with coax removed and without regard to any other appliances, would killing the breaker to the radio room prevent damage to everything on the bench?

I didn't know they came thermally protected like that. Cool!Mmm... TMOV's
