I have a Solarcon fiberglass antenna and I want to protect it better. Someone suggested to paint it, Someone told me just go to Lowes and buy some primer and spray it. Will this work ok

A light sanding to remove the loose shards and a few coats of marine spar varnish, available at any home improvement store, will do wonders and last for years and years. that's what I use on all my outdoor fiberglass antenna related things.

Dont use primer as the final coat. It will not hold up. Primer is not intended for exposed service, but a bonding agent for the real coating.

Don't use paints with metal content. Also pick a color that you absolutely hate. It always seems to last longer than other colors.

here in scotland we undercoat with some magic swr grease then top coat with braveheart brand tartan paint,

not only does it give a 1.0:1 swr on every channel but the braveheart tartan paint gives an extra 3dbi gain which takes you up to 12.9dbi.

but the best part of all is it gives you an extra 30db rejection of 26 division.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
