I have a H model PAL VFO Plus with a 16.115 crystal in it. Can I change the crystal to a 16.420 and use with my Mark III ?

The listing for "H" says the output frequency is 16.115 MHz. This suggests a crystal frequency 5 MHz lower, 11 MHz plus a little.

If your crystal is marked 16.115, I'll be surprised. That would get you an output frequency above 21 MHz.

Sounds like the "H" version should work on the SSB Mark 3 transmitter the way it is. A tweak to the dial-calibrate trimcap should be all the conversion it would need.

If the antenna leads of an inverted V dipole are at 45 degrees instead of at 180 degrees, what happens to the signal?
  • @ snippits75:
@AF7LL At 45 degrees it will be omnidirectional. At 180, horizontal, it will be directional.
