Palomar 300A Pre-Amp Problem

I've noticed lately when I turn the Pre-amp switch on of my amp the s-meter on the radio actually drops down. Where should I start looking in the amp for the bad part ? Thanks

Replace preamp transistor.

Thanks for the input, guess I'll have to find a Electronic tech to point me in the right direction because I haven't had training in electronics. Most I could do is open it up and look for toast.
