Hello all,

doe's anyone have a recipe and or experience with installing the HG1969 in the PC66Xl. I'm looking for some advice on getting the best results from this budget Uniden. Not looking for miracles, just the best possible outcome.

Thank you!

Simply replacing the stock final and repeaking the output coil is all there is to it. You won't see anywhere near double the power. More like one-third to one-half again higher reading. but folks who worship small boosts in the wattmeter reading will love it. Just be sure to apply fresh heat-sink compound. Consider also that the audio-power amp chip is supplying some of that new, additional power. Make sure that it's bolted to the heat sink securely and also has that all-important thin, thin flm of compound on both faces of the mica insulating washer.

Appreciate the recommendations, not looking for magic, just a sound set up for a hobbyist to practice on. Is there any benefit to a 2166 driver, or don't bother.
