Pres. Washington questions

What are the exact differences in the model that has three buttons below the channel knob and the ones that have only 2 buttons below the channel knob? A local shop has a two button model for 100 bucks, peaked and tuned. Was wondering if it is worth it. Which one is better, two or three?Thanks Merlin.

Hi, There were 2 (or More) versions of the Washington,

I believe the President and the Uniden are different.

The President was first and the Uniden was the later one.

I believe the main differences were the PLL chips used,

The President version was similar to the Cobra 142.

I believe it had a MB8719 (or MB8734) PLL.

I think there may even be an earlier President version that had a UPD858!



I am not sure what Pll the Uniden Versions are using now..



Someone correct me if I an wrong..

Well, the easiest way would be to open it up and look at the #s on the PLL
