President Jackson

If you talk mostly on AM, the Jackson is not the way to go. If the new Jackson is designed like the old, it's AM modulation circuit is low level. It will never sound "World-Wide" on AM.

That is not to say that it will not sound good, just not world-wide.

There really is nothing to disagree about. A radio either modulates its AM carrier in the low level stages (i.e. President Jackson and few others) or it does so in the later stages of amplification. (Galaxy, Cobra and almost all others.)

Perhaps the newer Jacksons are manufactured differently than the legendary Jacksons of old, but the older ones most certainly added AM audio to the carrier in the low-level stages, making the radio cheaper to manufacture than some of its competitors.

In general , it is much harder to get big audio (on AM) on a low-level AM radio than it is for, say, a Galaxy.

I have nothing against the Jackson, I am just stating the facts. And certainly, these facts do not prevent you from shooting skip. "World-Wide" as I used the description or paraphrase thereof has to do with the way a radio sounds on the air, not necessarily how many countries to which it may talk.
