Ok, this is going to sound stupid, but I have to ask, can you use more than 1 1969 final in 1 radio? Such as a uniden grant? Like maybe making it a dual final radio? Im not sure how you would do it, or if it would work, if anybody out there knows how to do this, please add some input here, or if it is totally unheard of let me know as well.<img src=http://users.joplin.com/dutch64804/posticon58.gif ALT=":p58">

Ok, a couple of things, the stingers are class C and won't sound hot on SSB at all, hell I don't like them even for AM. To answer your question, you cannot easily add two 1969 transistors to the radio. You would need another bias supply, a way to make the finals work in push pull, and a way to make the driver happy with the whole situation. You would be better off getting a nice AB-1 amplifier.

Why would you need that much drive for a comp radio?? I am no tech like a lot of you guys but wouldnt that much drive, over drive a 2290 ??? I always did fine with 8 1/2 watts on the bird.
