been wanting to unlock the clarifier and add channels to a Radio Shack TRC-457 i will do it only if can add a frequency counter. i do have a PDC-256 frequency counter and i was woundering if it can be hard wired into the radio for continous read out.

A lot of info on the trc 457, 458 rigs, great SSB rigs and some of the best receive.

Freq counter can be hard wired in but it will require an offset from the If freq.

LCD Digital Dial DDS VFO

Great freq counter kits here and are user programmable for if offsets.

thanks wavrider i've been looking for that web site for a while, been wanting to add one of there kits to a Radio Shack DX-160 short wave radio. i do think the pdc-256 had adjustble offset shift. would it wire the same way as a uniden washington into the TRC-457 if they have the same uniden board.
