Ranger RCI 29 Base Station

Tone control barely changes it's sad, need to get info on how to make it a wider range or difference ! This is somewhat of a priority too because the RX is rather more harsh sounding to me. A DSP setup inside sounds appealing too!

Has anyone figured some of this out yet? This thread hasn't been active lately.

I gave up on Ranger gear over 20 years ago now and I suspect that more and more other folks are giving up too. The outdated design, poor quality control, and drifty sideband issues just never seem to go away.
I would say about 80% of the people I talk to on 11 meters these days are using either Qixiang gear (Anytone, CRT, Radioddity etc.) or ham gear (mostly Icom). I rarely talk to anyone on a Ranger radio anymore.........though I will admit I spend nearly all my radio time on SSB and FM. I think the diehard Ranger fans are mostly on AM nowadays.
