Well, I've narrowed my choices down to two radios.....the 2970DX or the 6900F150. Anybody have any thoughts or comparisons of the two? I sure would appreciate the help!

You cant go wrong with a 2970,more than enough power to talk when you want to. They are also one of the best side band radios out there.

Both good radio's, depends on how important echo is to you I guess.

I prefer the 2070, mainly because of the scan feature allowing me to scan up to 10 channels all the time..
and I never use echo

2970 IMHO. Great do it all radios - except echo - but I am no fan of echo.

I've have used them both....2970dx is my radio of choice.

I don't remember if the 6900 has the "split freq" function but the 2970 does and I really like that feature.

I'd go with the 2970. If you want echo, just have it installed or use an echo mic.

Go with the 2970, i talked to a guy in Arkansas the other day, audio was great , he said its only radio to use on ssb, it gets out and no complaints on his audio just complements

I highly recommend the 2970DX.I've run this style of radio for over 25 years.Make sure you use a good antenna with this rig.Many people thought I was on a base when I ran this radio mobile.Good luck.
