Are there any modifications to this radio to increase Modulation and AM & SSB power?

Well power mic's where invented for this very reason. Most of those early radio's shipped with 2.5 to 3 watts of power and 60% modulation.

If no pot exists then it is time to substitute hard jelly bean parts.

As old as that radio is I have to assume the caps could be as dry and your average spot in Death Valley.

Caps are fine, I have a TRC47 since 1976 . never a problem.

There is a tiny , very tiny pot you can adjust. It will get you up to 100 % modulation.
Power not so much

Do any of you have a manual for it? I had one in the 70s but it was stolen. I just purchased one but I would like a manual for it. If you do email me at {redacted} and we can work some thing out.
Check with Dan on the Sam's Photofacts thread. If you ask him and he has Sam's CB-61 he'll probably scan the section on the TRC-47 for you.

I've had both! The TRC-47 and 48 were more or less identical, but the 47 didn't have the meter or noise blanker. If you can't find the 47 manual, the 48 will do in a pinch.

Dan has already scanned that one, check the following post:
