Repair Shops

Some of the radio repair shops are swamped with work. I have a 99v that I would like gone through ... not looking for the "Golden Screwdrive" tech.

What are some shops you all would recommend

I sent my buddy's rig to First Class Radio in Illinois and they did a fine job. Took about 6 weeks, tho

I would have to suggest that Clay's Radio Shop will do right by you.

Matt @ radio garage is backed up too. He told me the middle of August and I'm in line. Seems most everyone is backed up with the lack of real techs these days.

That is becoming the norm or so it seems.

He was also redoing his bench so could also be a factor.

Well, I'm down to 6 units but it's because I just quit excepting new shipments. I will be building a new bench once these units are finished. Building a 6 pill for one cust. Rebuilding a 4 pill for another and finishing up a restore on a Pres. Madison. A CX3300HP and a CX3400HP Oh forgot restoring a Palomar base amp as well. So yes it is crazy busy but much fun for I just turned 69 and still going strong after 49 years repairing.

I talked to Bob's CB last weekend. He is now on repairs taken in from last September. Bob only working half days due to health.

Sent my 148 and Magnum s45 to Chris Holland at Superior CB shop in Ontario, California. I was told it would about 5 weeks before he gets to them.

Clay's is good, but I know Chris Holland is/was the repair center for Magnum radios. Plus I want a couple of mods done to the 148 that I don't believe Clay's will do.

Hey Denny ! Hope all is well, just put that Connex to work a couple of days ago, getting great reports.

I have to tell you guys that when I got two radios and a little burner back from Denny (OldTech03), I was amazed at the level of detail and care bestowed upon my old shitboxes. Definitely worth the wait if you can.
