Never quite understood why some people do this. When the band is open there is activity on all channels.

Might be because they don't know how to use the channel selector?

Through the years I've done a lot of accidental DX on 19. Many times I've asked for traffic or bear reports only to have someone from the other side of the country come back. Kind of fun when that happens.

Simple answer really. They are quite full of themselves and they feel the need to be a complete asshole on the air so they pick a channel that will result in the most interference to others. Combine a mental midget with a asshole and give him a microphone and there is no end to the ignorance that can be achieved.

Usually If I here activity on ch. 9 it's south of the border skip, and ch. 19 is a crap shoot for me sometimes I here zip, drivers do pop up now and again.

I agree with the statememt "there is no gentlemens agreement on the C.B. that everyone trys to follow", I have heard AM on 38 and most use it for SSB; I wasn't mad at him, I understand the frustration though especially if I was on the road and somebody was "jamming up" 19!

I was taking a neighbor lady to the Doctors office and pulled up next to a car with a Super LOUD car stereo thumping it out. The little old lady noticed that it was a WHITE BOY jumping around lip syncing to the rap. She looked some what confused and asked me, " Why does that boy want to be a black?" Actually she used a socially unacceptable term, which I will not repeat. She said the beat sounded like Dumb Dumb Stupid Stupid.
I was so glad that the kid did not hear her. The headlines would not have been kind.
