Hey there folks! Does anyone out there have any knowledge / information relating to an "old school tube " Robyn T123B CB base radio? I have an opportunity to purchase one from the original owner, but I'm sort of gun-shy with those old tube radios. But......., I wasn't gun-shy way back in the late sixties when I entered the CB world. At my (72) age, I still like the good old box base station CB radios.

Recon,
Owners manual and schematic below. Thought I had a service manual on it as well. If I find it, I will post it.

I am a tube radio fan as well. Had several of this model (and other like models-Gemtronics, Teaberry etc) in the 70's.

Thank you for the reply Dmans. I think I will "bite the bullet" and buy the radio, but I'm waiting for a reply from the owner with answers to a few questions. The first two important questions are; has the radio been modified and/or to the local butcher shop?

And mileage matters, too. A radio with a lot of miles will always require more work to restore than one that wasn't used a lot. 45 years is a long time for a tube radio. The older they get the more important the mileage becomes.

Thank you for the information. The owner has not replied to my email. Maybe if the radio was stored for all those years, I would consider buying it, but I can't seem to get a "track" record on it, so I will pass on buying it. I know that the original factory box is not with the radio. Oh well, it's time to move-on. Thanks again.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
