I have commited to rewiring my amp and running new coax. Not that I may or may not notice a difference but, Would I be better off using RG-213/U or just have some new runs of RG-8X made?
Thanks

I did that with the amp I just took out of my truck. It came with 6ga leads and I ran 4ga. So I added 4ga leads to the amp as well.If Texas star states a 45 amp draw for the 500V why do they ship the amp with only 10 gauge wire? I am considering opening the amp and replacing the 10 with 4, Am I just splitting hairs or would this be beneficial?
Thanks 359, I appreciate all the help I can get. I'll be sending the amp off for this upgrade as I really don't want to screw anything up. I do have a good start on the install though.
I wouldn't put anything over a 6 awg cable on that amp as it will not be of any benefit.
I would just use mini 8x coax in a mobile setup with that amount of power, I ran a 2x4 amp making 800 watts pep or so and never had any issues.
4 AWG for car audio is cheap and easy to find though.
I got about 100 ft of it as "remnants" on ebay for $20.
