I have one of them thube drive size SDR radios and i was going to get an up converter to get HF.
Because this thing suffering from front end overload I was going to get FM radio filter and I was wondering if this filter board would help with HF?

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/332074659425

I'm not sure the filter board will help you. The receiver gain has to be set properly to avoid front end overload. With the dongle and upconverter I had to set it manually. Running it on auto someone was always overloading it. May have just been the software I was using.

I used one of the dongles and an upconverter for a while. It worked alright. It started giving me issues and I bought an sdrplay. All you need in one small package.

HRO has them for $100. The price has dropped since the new version came out.

I've been using the MFJ-1046 passive preselector with my HackRF.

Helps a lot. A receiver that works up to 6 GHz pulls in a lot of junk when I'm trying to hear HF ham bands. Does take care of overload from the FM broadcast band as well as the AM broadcast transmitter a couple of miles away.
