I just bought a Yaesu 857D and already own the FC-40 tuner and want to install either the 108 inch stainless whip or the SG-307 on my mini Blazer. I have read an article about performance being the same? Price wise they are nowhere near the same,,,,,,

108" whip $18.95
SG-307 whip $265.00

Any thoughts?

I'd go with the 108 whip and see how you like it.I know a few guys that are running SGC or LDG tuners with the 108 whips and they are quite pleased.Their only regret is that people keep thinking they are CB'ers. It just does not have the "cool" factor. Can't beat the price.Let us know how you like the 857D.I have the straight 857 but added the DSP unit when I bought it.I love mine.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
