They make different diameters of shring tubing but do they also make dif wall thicknesses?
I buy my wrap from fry's but it all seems thin and cheap...where can I order stiffer plastic tubing?

Try an industrial electric outlet that supplies materials to contractors. They carry the large stuff to several inches in diameter and several feet long.

I've bought two versions of heat strink tubing.
The thin wall stuff works well for many applications.
Another type referred to as thick wall has a sticky goo over the inside surface. As it is heated and shrinks the stuff seals things in very well. It's ideal for outdoor connectors.

Look on page 10 for a picture...

Thank you for that page. I made this thread because I don't always like my vhf whips bouncing around so to solve that shrink wrap keeps it from bending like a wet noodle

I just buy better quality antennas with a thicker/stiffer whip portion. My dual band CA-2x4SR stays perfectly stable and straight at highway speeds and beyond.

I do buy good quility antennas like comet and diamond Larsen etc. But sometimes when I feel like running monoband mode with a 5/8w antenna shrink stiffens up the whip.
Here's a comet sma24 with shrink wrap perfect for keeping the whip straight up but still has some room to swing

and beyond?? warp speeds?? :D

Not quite but I have been known to reach the speed limiter limit on the odd occassion.

Didn't know you were talking about HT antennas.
