I recently purchased a General Lee and had some modifications done—talkback relay put in, modulation limiter (governor) removed, and had the receive increased. When I placed the radio back in my dump truck, with the power on low and the amp turned on only—no other buttons—I get a constant squeal. This didn’t happen before the radio modifications. The radio works fine without the amp, but with it it squeals on low power. I tried it out on high power, and I don’t receive a squeal. I don’t want to run with the radio on high with the amp on and rush damaging my radio. Any suggestions as to what the issue could be?

" This didn't happen before the radio modifications"

I am a big fan of Not removing AMC controls.
It Invites many problems.
What was done to "increase" the receive ?
You should not need to run the radio on high to drive a 500.
Honestly I would put the limiter back as it was and adjust it properly as a start.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
