Stupid things seen or heard at a CB shop

The guy in the CB shop at the Petro in Weatherford, TX thinks people who use antenna analyzers are idiots, and that the correct way to do it is to use an inline SWR meter, because that way you're measuring with the radio in-system. Taking out the radio is strictly forbidden when measuring and tuning an antenna, according to him.

Well, what I got out of that was that he hacks radios to pieces. So I bought the used radio I wanted and walked out without saying anything about that.

Got it to my tech, and sure enough, it was hacked to pieces, but it ended up being beautifully restored. (Operationally - it still looks like it got tossed into a running cement mixer and left in there for a while.)

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
