Like the title says. Decided to say to hell with the cold. It has been far to long since we have been away. Currently sitting by the pool in Ocho Rio's Jamaica. Got here about suppertime Monday. It's a bit cooler here today than yesterday. Barely making 81 degrees. Not sure we will survive.

No difference now than in 2015 when we were first down. In fact we were here in 2018 during the state of emergency when the government had a major crack down on gang violence. Police and JDF troops everywhere. Tour busses were waved through checkpoints while local transit and private vehicles were stopped and searched or occupants screened.Tourists pretty much stand out and for the most part are left alone as long as you stay out certain areas but that is no different than any major city in Canada or the USA anyway. For the most part tourists would have no business going there anyway. Don't be an asshole and don't flash your bling or money and there is no problem mon. How is that any different that elsewhere? It isn't in all honesty. The Jamaicans know who brings the money into the country and are not about to cut off that cash cow.

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare
    May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned
