Never heard of the guy. The amplifiers look well made and have nice options like regulated AB and variable SSB delay. He must not have anything for sale right now on e-bay hence the $2899 price tag for his DX500 amplifier. I noticed in his feedback he sold a DX250 for $295. The DX250 is only a single 454 final, odd.
I would like to see what a field strength meter does near it when keyed.

Woah! Just when you think you've heard it all........... That is complete insanity. So the entire ground for the amp is just the common foil on the board & the flanges of the SO-239's??? Please tell me the heatsink is metal and not plastic LOL!
It also must be hideously unstable. Walk near it with a metal object and you can watch the SWR and power output change!
Far as I know, Brian is an RF engineer by training. But some of the things he does baffle me from time to time. The stuff he ships that I've seen is legit.

He blocked me and Steve for asking questions about his new amp on his on FB page, then deleted the whole group.
And after all the talk about his new amp design that was not going to use " lossy transformers" because they have such bad efficiency.......
He is back to building with

I have a Skywave DX350 REV A. It is made of metal. If you look close at the edges, it looks like he just used some shears to cut as they look pretty rough. Seems like he built a lot of protection in to them. I also included specs on the 2879AB, don't know if it was before or after the one I have as mine is marked Prototype 5.

He did not used to be over priced. He used to be very very reasonable.
Brian is very smart but also kind of grouchy! I am an Army Brat and Dad was a Drill Sargent for 3 years so guys that are a bit gruff and out spoken and or opinionated do not bother me. That said he does rub many the wrong way but he is a very good person.
Everything I have ever purchased from him has been of the finest quality and exactly as represented. He does not over promise and under deliver as many do.
I like the guy but I also know in real life he is not going to win most people over. On the other hand I hear everyone loves Jeffry Epstein, President Obama, President Clinton. Sometimes comming off as a likeable guy means next to nothing once you dig a bit deeper! Just saying! Idiots droll over VW's dressed up as a Ferrari all the time because they think all that glitters is gold!
