I bought the two radio pack from Amazon. Tested both on a spectrum analyzer to test the harmonic attenuation. One was fine with similar results as Moleculo. The other was found to be transmitting off frequency compared to the VFO. Set for 145.555 (simplex) and was transmitting on 138.500. Sent both back to Amazon for a refund.
 
I'm a little late to the game on this thread, but I think the quality, or at least the reliability, has improved with the 2025 models.
I have a couple of these, and they are hard to beat, especially for <$30 USD to your door.

    Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
