Is this normal behavior, even though I have the equipment properly grounded? I checked with a continuity meter, and everything looks good. However, I notice that while checking the SWR and power settings on my Autek WM-1 meter, the SWR decreases when I touch the metal case or the aluminum box.

This question isn't about whether my SWR is acceptable; it's about why the SWR reading goes down and the power reading increases slightly when I touch the aluminum housing. In contrast, when I touch the meter housing directly, the readings go up. I have two of these meters, and they both behave the same way.So I ask, do all meters behave that way, too?

  • @ Hambones amps:
Does anyone know if you can replace the 2290 in a galaxy dx 93t twin turbine with a 2sc2879 red dot? If so, what would have to be tuned?
  • @ ShadowDelaware:
Hambones the entire amp section would have to be retuned, and the rf transformers re wrapped.
