Turner 18070 handheld mic ??

Picked up this and a Shure Bros grey mic yesterday. This mic has only two wires, can it be wired up 4 pin to work on my export rigs and/or my 980 ?

This this weighs a bunch, I'd really like to be able to use it. The grey Shure unit is up for grabs if anyone is interested.

It is unlikely that you will be able to wire the microphone to a four pin without fairly in depth modification internally. Also, the element (may be a carbon type) would most likely have to be run through a hi-z to Lo-z converter (transformer) to get any real output from the mic. That is if the element is in working order at all. I have a mic very similar. I am thinking of trying to retro fit it to be able to use newer guts including a different switch. I just have to see if I even have anything that might work, or even fit!

What model is the Shure mic?

The Turner mike may work on a tube-type radio. One wire for the relay, one for audio and the shield for ground.

Might also work on a Yaesu FT-101. Mike input is high impedance on that radio.

I realize I may very well be wrong on the element type, as it does say dynamic on it! haha

On the Turner's ID plate, in the center it says "ohms". Below that "Hi".

Pretty sure they mean high impedance with that.
