Same channel different antennas hear different skip from different areas at the same time. a long wire.and a starduster?

I do this on my garage station. I have a Starduster on my Stryker 440 and a horizontal dipole on my Cobra 19. Tuned to the same channel, I can hear the same signal go from one radio to the other and back as it fades in and out. It just fades from one radio to the other. Sometimes I key up both radios and talk on both of them at the same time. Haha!
