I was going to say it won't be in the stores. It is too much of a niche item.
As for being out of stock, I do not think it's a tease. This would be the sort of thing that goes online as a test to measure public interest so the quantities would initially have been limited.
Believe it or not, www sales is a huge highly competitive market nowadays with sites like Amazon attempting to take over some of the more traditional home improvement and home and garden markets. With that emerging challenge I am not surprised to see online HD items broadening into other areas as well.
Currently, the fastest growing online sales business is homedepot.com.

Agreed and the quality of the Uniden over the Galaxy products alone is probably worth the price.
 
Out of stock, LOL sounds like Copper and H&Y. Place and order with them and they tell you "Oh thats an out of stock item that we wont have for 2 months but we did charge your card!"
