Was looking at this radio this morning. Pretty neat.
Yeah i can see where it would be a handy unit..
Now if it was a sidebander also, they would fly off the shelves for sure..
I would have to see just how well that would actually work to believe it. In theory it sounds interesting though.
Interesting! Comes with a GPS receiver to update scanner frequencies databases to your location and it comes with a window mount scanner antenna. It also still has the WX alert features of it's predecessor.
I might look into one of these.
Spiffy. I wonder if they'll do a 985SSB? That would be kind of fun.
What's the data port for?
Updating the scanner database or GPS antenna port?
And it would be priced a couple hundred dollars short of a full fledged ham radio with all of the HF bands.
That's a phone jack so you can plug in your land-line to call Uniden to find out where to send the radio for service, since no one on planet Earth is going to know how to fix the radio when something go's wrong...
Just send it to Mark Sherman...
Be sure to check your local laws before using it mobile.
I'm wondering if they aren't going to change the laws on this... anyone can use a scanner app on their smart phone and nobody knows you are doing it. Doesn't seem fair to limit folks that want to have a real scanner in their car when scanner apps are freely available these days.
Does look like a cool rig, though!
I'd take my chances with Bubba at the butcher shop first. His ego wouldn't squeeze you out of the room..
You can have any scanner you want in texas!!
