this is sad news about our silent key brother, he was a great contributor of information to this forum and I really enjoyed making contact with 399.

If you would like to honor JJ, you could dedicate a day of operating to him and note it in your log or qsl's.

What if we dedicated a skip week-end to JJ. A "WWDX Unit 399 Memorial Skip Net". It would be a way to allow all of his WWDX friends to pay respect in a way that we all enjoyed with him.

I think JJ would probably be embarrassed by the attention, and love the idea anyways.

Based on the positive feedback, I propose we do our "Unit 399 Memorial Net" the week-end of May 16 & 17. That gives us time to get the word out here on WWDX. It also avoids conflicts with Mothers Day plans folks may have next week.

Do we want to use LSB 16, USB 35 or USB 40, our usual WWDX CB net choices?

Love the idea of a 399 JJ memorial weekend but other than a three day window last week I've had essentially zero DX conditions for almost a month now. Not sure about the rest of you........maybe I'm just too far north these days and skip is booming where you are!

Don't feel alone buddy. The solar site said Good for today but you couldn't tell it on my radio. Thank God spring has got me hopping along with other matters !

I have had some skip conditions, I have talked to 505 in Bermuda 2 days in a row with a s7 signal on AM. A few contacts to Jamaica, Hawaii and Australia later in the day on sideband. But, just a few stateside contacts and they were quickly in and out. 28 AM and 17 AM have been real quite.
Not real sure conditions will allow us to have to much luck with a net weekend.
