I just heard a couple of guys on 38 talking about him passing away. It's very sad to hear. It has been a while since I heard him. But I have been on AM a little more lately though.

So sad to hear this news, I had the pleasure of making contact with 399 JJ back in April 2025 and a few other times, always had very nice Qsos with him, sending Prayers for his Family on their Loss,RIP my Friend

Worked JJ several times over the years from the house and from my mobile. 1st class operator. He will be missed by many. RIP 399
Anybody have more details on what happen to him or why ? How old a guy was he ? I never had the pleasure of connecting with him but looked forward to it and enjoyed his posts. RIP !
Holy crapola! Doesn't look any older than me. Naturally people want to know what happened to him. Tracking down a local obituary would be one thing. Getting it translated would be necessary for me. RIP, Jim.

The last phone call I got from him was December 4th. The day after you two talked. I missed the call and tried him back that evening with no success. I've tried several times since then with no luck. It must have been sudden because he had mentioned before, besides his two bad knees, he was in good health.
I tried his phone last night, hoping Luz would answer, but there was no answer.
Ugh....
I wasn't here for long on the forums, but he chimed in recently about which good amps to pick when I posted.... Because of him, I am on the lookout for those TX 250 and 350 amps built in the 1980s.

Going to run the Realistic TRC-449 in memory of 399 JJ for the week. (Didn't realize one of the channel led segments is out.)
I have been running the Hy-Gain V the past month. Good Idea, gonna get one of the 858's I have on here. I have wanted a TRC-449 and Pres Adams forever, but still on my wish list. Good idea.
Me too. I thought something was off when he never chimed in on the "MOV" thread that I recently added to. He will be missed.
