voltage goes up when keyed


90% chance RF is getting into the digital volt meter. Install a .01 uf ceramic disk capacitor directly across the back of the meter terminals and it should stop. If another volt meter placed directly across the battery terminals or lights getting brighter confirms the voltage increase, you have a defective voltage regulator or RF is getting into its voltage sensing wire to the battery.

That low powered of a radio would not cause a drop unless your battery or alternator are shot.

got it fixed, ithanks for all the reply's, it was something stupid............

bad grounding, when i pulled out the unit, the ground was only barely making contact to the screw, remove it and re-tighten it and the problem went away
