I had a cobra 29 ltd classic for the life of me I couldn't figure it out why it would key up one minute and die the next with no key up, no modulation but had recieve. I messed around with re-heating the solder points on the final, audio chip and driver to no success. Finally I was probing around with my voltmeter and found the rectifier diode(D23) I found the diode was leaking above 1v and replaced it and all was back to normal and in fact is one of the strongest stock peaked and tuned I have had. It dk 7 1/2 and peak was about 25-27w on a stock 2078. Not too bad for a $10.00 radio.
