XForce 1KW supply voltage.

What’s your opinion on the HGs? My thoughts was buy one of the China knock offs Toshibas and hope for the best. If that don’t work. I’ll save up for a matched set of HGs.

The HG are fine and do a good job, but they can't be over driven and survive like the Toshibas can. I believe the fake Toshibas and HG are too different to mix with the real Toshibas as the tuning requirements are slightly different. Maybe someone who has gone down this road can chime in.

Update on amp. Used 6 regulators instead of 3. Do each fan has its own dedicated regulator. Also used some aluminum plates for heat sinks. Replaced the one bad pill. Seems to work well. Thanks for all the advice. Greatly appreciated. Cheers!!!

Looks good, I would get those loose solder balls out of there. They can create havoc.

Thanks for everyone’s input on my amp. I have been using it regularly sense the repair. Seems to be fine. I seen a video from BBI on a 64 pill and got a bit confused about something. The amp he was working on had no output combiner resistors in it. Said that was fine. Has anyone seen amplifiers without the combiner resistors? And why would they do this?

Ok, another issue popped up. Looking for Thoughts. I was running this amp and working fine. Took a break and come back after a few minutes. When keyed down it has no out put and blocks all drive watts. Turn off the amp and it passes all the drive watts. What would yall think could cause this? Bad set of points on the relay maybe. Relay switches on like it should. I have
done no diagnostics on it yet. Just looking for suggestions on a starting point. Sorry to keep beating this horse. But hey this is what drives every radio operator right.

Bad Keying circuit

With the amplifier off and unkeyed simply take a multimeter and look for continuity between the antenna and the driver jack. If you have continuity then that means the amp should be receiving and watts should also be flowing through the other way with the amp in standby or off.

  • @ Deon:
Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.
  • @ crappykraco:
@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
