yaesu vx5r programming software???

I picked up a used one w/software and when I go to install
it,it prompts for call sign(optional)/name/serial number.Well,I
go and type in the info it asks for the proper password!There is
nothing in the paperwork about this and thought someone might
be able to help me here.I'd like to be able to use the software
to program it.It's already been opened up(export mod),but it
would be much easier this way.Anyone got any ideas????

The software is asking for a registration code, or is it a password? I have that radio, but not the software. I would contact the guy you got the radio and software from. If he registered it, he should be able to give you the info. If not, you might be stuck re-registering it.

There's also some freeware for this radio out there. Check here: home.comcast.net/~sllewd/vx5soft.htm. If I had a cable for my radio, I'd download it and try it
